Copernicus Masters Awards 2015 – preparatory workshop

A workshop was held on Tuesday the 10th of June 2014 at InnovAthens regarding the preparation of the Hellenic participation in «COPERNICUS MASTERS COMPETITION 2015», a worldwide annual competition for innovative business applications and solutions, based on satellite earth observation data, targeting the social and business needs of everyday life. Greece, already participating at the European funded project Large Scale Demonstrator in Athens – LDA and in cooperation with the involved partners, is going to participate the Greek challenge of the Copernicus Masters Competition of 2015. The thematic area of the challenge is being addressed by the National Cadastre and Mapping Agency SA. Dr. Xenophone Tsilibaris, GRNET, was the moderator of this workshop, A detailed presentation of all the applications implemented by HAMAC member companies during LDA project took also place. At the second part of the event, Dr. Panagiotis Lolonis, Member of the Scientific Board at National Cadastre and Mapping Agency SA, referred in detail on Competition Masters Awards 2015, presented the thematic areas and asked the participants to designate the thematic area of the 2015 Greek challenge. ΣΕΚΕΕ-HAMAC at Startup Grind Athens event hosting Haris Karonis

The premiere of Startup Grind Athens took place on Wednesday the 8th of October 2014, under the auspices of HAMAC and the support of  InnovAthens at Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens area. Haris Karonis, founder and CEO of Realize, Viva!, Viva Payments, HAMAC Vice-Chairman and participant at Odyssey Venture Partners, shared his experience with all participants who took adgantage of his guidance and replied to Dimitris Litsikakis’ questions, Chapter Director of Startup Grind Athens, in a fireside chat.

LDA project workshop, NOA Penteli on June 27, 2013

HAMAC is participating in a european research funding project that implements a wide range of displaying innovative solutions and services over mobile devices, based on the GMES (Global Monitoring for Environment and Security) and GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System – Galileo) systems. Project’s title: Large-scale demonstrators in support of GMES and GNSS based services (LDA) Partners of the project : Co-ordinator: GRNET – Greek Research and Technology Network Partners: NOA – National Observatory of Athens (Institute for Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications & Remote Sensing) HEMCO – Hellenic Mapping and Cadastral Association (subcontractor:  Hellenic Cadastre – Ktimatologio) ATLANTIS consulting HAMAC – Hellenic Association of Mobile Application Companies At this stage, HAMAC, in cooperation with NOA organized a workshop at NOA’s premises, Penteli, on Thursday,  June 27th at 15:00, where the consortium presented the participants the project concept,  while HAMAC members  had the opportunity to discuss their ideas regarding GMES/GNESS enabled geolocation services. According to the contract, HAMAC will announce a call for proposals via the project’s website (under construction by GRNET), where the best proposals will be selected and supported by HAMAC so that they can adapt and integrate the services to the project platform and participate in the demonstration. For the implementation and show of the services, the members of the consortium will provide: cloud computing  services (from GRNET ) wide range of spatial data, geodetic and mapping coverage in high analysis  (from HEMCO) satellite data and elaborating algorithms (from NOA) At the end of this workshop, all participants had the opportunity for a brief tour at NOA’s facilities. You will be informed shortly of all necessary steps to be followed.  

MWC 2013 – Taste the Greek Spirit Party

The Greek delegation organized on Wednesday the 27th of February the  “Taste the Greek Spirit Party”, offering traditional products (provided by the Crete Exporters Association) to our visitors and potential clients. The party was successful and enhanced our contacts with our future business colleagues and our new friends.  

Mobile World Congress 2013 – Greek pavillion opening

The Greek pavillion started operating at GSMA Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona today. It is the first time that Greece is represented by a national stand, where 10 companies-members of the Hellenic Association of Mobile Application Companies are exhibiting their products and services within the stand and 15 companies are members of the Greek delegation team. This year, over 6.500 companies are exhibiting and a number of more than 70.000 visitors are expected to participate at the world’s biggest digital communication congress and exhibition. Leonidas Kanellos, President of the National Telecommunications and Post Commission, Thanasis Paliatsos and Ioanna Samprakou representing the Ministry of Development, George Stefanopoulos, President of the Greek Mobile Operators Association, and many representatives enhanced this first presence. Costis Papadimitrakopoulos, Chairman, Marco Veremis, Vice-Chairman, and Yiannis Kotsis-Giannarakis, General Manager, welcomed the visitors on behalf of HAMAC.

ΣΕΚΕΕ-HAMAC @ GSMA Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona

Greece is participating for the first time with a national pavillion at GSMA Mobile World Congress 2013, taking place in Barcelona within 25-28 February. This Greek pavillion is an initiative of the Hellenic Association of Mobile Application Companies, and is co-organized by the National Telecommunications and Post Commission of the Ministry of Development. The members of the Greek delegation are having the opportunity to present their products and services worldwide in the biggest event of the digital communication sector. This delegation is part of the planned in partnership actions Σynergies, followed by the innovative sectors of mobile apps (HAMAC), semiconductor (HSIA), aerospace (HASI), bio-cluster (H-bio) and startups (HSA). ΣΕΚΕΕ-HAMAC at the 3rd InfoCom Mobiles & Apps Conference

Under the auspices of HAMAC, the 3rd InfoCom Mobiles & Apps Conference took place on the 6th of February at Divani Caravel hotel. Right after the beginning of the Conference, Costis Papadimitrakopoulos, Chairman of the Hellenic Association of Mobile Application Companies, announced the first official Greek participation at the GSMA Mobile World Congress 2013 which is taking place in Barcelona, and pointed out the significant meaning for our members, who have the opportunity to present their products and services worldwide. This Greek pavillion is an initiative of the Hellenic Association of Mobile Application Companies, and is co-organized by the National Telecommunications and Post Commission of the Ministry of Development. A press conference followed the announcement.  

New members introductory meeting

An informal introductory meeting with the new members who entered the association during the 2nd General Meeting took place on Tursday the 8th of November 2012. Mr Yiannis Kotsis-Giannarakis, General Manager, welcomed the new members and expressed the hope that this first meeting will consist the beginning of a mutual cooperation for the interests of the companies and the scope of the association.The members introduced themselves an presented their companies’ activities. They were informed about the association’s actions to date, the planns for the participation in Mobile World Congress 2013, which will take place in Barcelona on February, as well as the future actions and the scope of the association’s committees. Specifically, the members of BoD present, informed the participants about the to date actions of the Committees, as follows: Mr George Karantonis, as coordinator of the Grants Committee. Mr Stratis Apergis, as representative of the Regulatory Committee. Mr Antonis Hatzistamatiou, as coordinator of the New Members Committee. The association is planning similar events, in order to enhance networking between the members.

ΣΕΚΕΕ-HAMAC at InfoCom World 2012 Conference

Under the auspices of HAMAC, the 14th Telecom Conference InfoCom World 2012: It’s a connected world. Anytime, Anywhere, Any Device took place on Tuesday, October 30 2012 at Divani Caravel Hotel, in Athens. Many members of HAMAC participated in this most prominent conference of its kind in SE Europe, accurately depicting the rapid advances in digital technology due to high speed broadband and the covergence of ICT and Media, as follows: Mr Costis Papadimitrakopoulos, Chairman of HAMAC BoD, participated in the 2nd Session: All in the cloud – Everything as a Service!, as a speaker. Mr Yiannis Kotsis-Giannarakis, General Manager of HAMAC, participated in the 3rd Session: Innovation and Extraversion, as a key-note speaker. Representatives from many members of HAMAC, such as: Globo, Vci, Virtual Trip, m-Stat, Fasmetrics, iMellon presented and participated in the different sessions-panels.  

Workshop «Investments for Innovation and Extraversion»

Taking under consideration the common views of the associations representing innovation and extraversion in the field of technology,  the «New Investment Law» workshop took place on Thursday 1st of November 2012. The workshop was co-organized by the 5 associations whose members repesent innovative and extraverted companies: HAMAC (mobile applications), HSIA (semiconductors), Hbio (bio-cluster), HASI (aerospace) and HSA (startups) and, appart from members of the associations, participated also representatives of consulting firms, investment institutions as well as expert staff from the political sector, who ensured of the government’s intention to provide emphasis and help the field of technology. Outcome of this workshop will be a common text,  including all possible aspects for the improvement of the New Investment Law to be sent to the Ministry of Development during the public consultation of the Law, which expires on 9/11/2012.
